Bear Cave Stories
Every Bear Cave Stories video is one true story from music history. The deals, the disasters, and the songs that almost never came out. I do the research, I sort the legend from the facts, and I tell it to you straight.
Creating on YouTube since 2020. Formerly Bear Reacts.
I hadn't really listened to the Beatles before, but I knew this song's connection to Charles Manson. I wanted to hear it for myself and ask how anyone could read something so dark into a piece of music.
The video pairs my first reaction with the history, so viewers can work through those questions with me. It took more than five hours to make.
What I took from it: listeners can attach meanings to a song that the artist never intended. It reminded me to question interpretations and always look at the context.

About
Hey, I'm Bear.
I'm Nicholas Alexander Casias Jr., but everybody calls me Bear. I'm a dad, an Army veteran, and a radio guy from Pueblo, Colorado.
Music grabbed me early. Michael Jackson's Thriller and Bad changed my life, and I spent every week waiting for Casey Kasem to count down the Top 10. When I got older, I'd race home to catch TRL.
Now I host The Bear Cave on KTSC Rev 89.5 and run Bear Cave Stories, where I tell you the true stories behind the songs you love. I'm studying Media and Entertainment at CSU Pueblo, and I do it all myself: the research, the writing, the audio, and the video.
Off the mic, I love concerts, horror movies, and Star Wars. Marcia Lucas's editing on Star Wars is a big reason I wanted to edit film. My favorites? Queen and Michael Jackson, always. But the best part of my life is my kids.
